Tips For Choosing A Real Estate Agent

Tips For Choosing A Real Estate Agent

The buying of a home is one of the biggest purchases most people will ever
make. The process is complex and is stressful even in the best circumstances.
Picking the right people to represent your interests can make a big difference
in this challenging process.

Sandi Durr (Cynthia Hill Properties) & Mike Durr (The Kingwood Mortgage Guy) came
up with five tips for choosing a real estate agent that they feel will help you make a good decision when choosing your Realtor.

First Tip: Is the Realtor familiar with the area? You should always choose a
Realtor that has substantial expertise in the area you are looking in, or trying to
sell in. There are a lot of small things about communities that can make a big
difference to you the buyer if they go un-discovered. If you are the seller you
want to make sure that the Realtor prices correctly, understands all of the positives
of the area and makes a point of highlighting the most appealing points of your home
but also the area.

Second Tip:Does the Agent communicate well? Many Realtors are experts and they
don’t mind sharing their expertise. The problem is that sometimes the Agent is so
full of themselves that they don’t give you a chance to explain what you are looking for.
If you are selling you want a Agent That gives you honest feedback on a consistent
timeline. What are the agents and potential buyers who view your home saying about it.
This would help you make any adjustments to your selling strategy if you are communicating
with your listing agent on a consistent basis.

Third Tip: Is the agent proficient at Photoshop and Video editing? Do they have it
outsourced, or do they have expertise in that area. This is a big deal, because 90% of
people that are looking to buy, look on the internet first and the photos and any videos
are going to be the first and most important impression that potential buyers get of your
home. It just makes sense to choose a Realtor that takes this aspect of their job seriously.

Fourth Tip: Is the Agent Internet Tech Savvy? In the crazy market we are in right now
a Realtor must take advantage of all of the media available to them. There are hundreds of
free and some paid websites where people go to view properties for sale. Are you aware that
Youtube is the 3rd largest search engine in the world? You want your property to be seen by as many
people as possible. Today the internet is the way this is done. Your agent some be on the
cutting edge of technology, knowing exactly how to leverage this knowledge to get the
maximum number of eyes on your property.

Fifth Tip: What do the Realtors past clients say about them? This question will give you great
insight as to what kind of service you are going to receive. If an agent does not have stellar
rating and lots of testimonials you may want to look elsewhere.

If you use these tips for choosing a real estate agent you will have a much better chance
of having a pleasant experience in the home buying or home selling process. The difference
in a great experience or a terrible experience could be in one of your initial questions
during the interview process. So use these tips for choosing a real estate agent and have a great experience.
